The region is a retail haven, with the Whitewater at Newbridge and Kildare Village Retail Outlet shopping in Kildare town offering international brands such as Debenhams, Timberland, Zara, River Island, Monsoon, Karen Millen, Ralph Lauren, Nike, Quicksilver and Cafe Coton. There is an abundance of retail parks such as the M7 Retail Park, Newhall Retail Park and Globe Retail Park with household names such as Harvey Norman, Woodies, Clery’s and Smyths. Dining Out

For the discerning palate dining options are plentiful with many fine restaurants such as Paul’s Restaurant in Kilcullen, The Storehouse, Lemon Grass & Vie de Chateaux in Naas and Donatello’s in Newbridge.
 

Education

Athgarvan is within easy reach of very fine educational facilities. Athgarvan boasts it’s own primary school, while there is plenty of choice for other primary schools in Naas, Kilcullen and Newbridge. Also situated on the Green Road in Newbridge is a Gael Scoil that offers students the option of progressing onto it’s second level school based on the Curragh. There are also plenty of options for second level education again in Newbridge, Naas and Kilcullen, with Newbridge boasting the co-educational Dominican College on the banks of the Liffey with its tremendous sporting and educational facilities.
 

Sport

Kildare is a county bountiful in amenities. From a sporting perspective it boasts 3 top class racecourses - The Curragh, Naas and Punchestown all within 15 minutes of Athgarvan village hosting major racing including the Punchestown 5 day festival and all 5 of Ireland’s Classic Flat Races including the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby at the Curragh. Kildare is also home to Ireland’s premier motor racing track at Mondello Park and also greyhound racing at Newbridge Stadium. Top class golf courses are in abundance such as The Curragh (Ireland’s Oldest Golf Course), right on Athgarvan’s doorstep, Dunmurry Springs in Kildare Town, The PGA National, Carton House and The K Club in Straffan. Other leisure activities in the area include G.A.A., soccer, rugby, fishing, walking, swimming, tennis and canoeing to name but a few.
